Simple. Private. Whenever you need it.
Heydave is a chat app. You talk, Dave listens. Here's what makes it a bit different.
Start with how you're feeling
Every session begins with a simple mood check-in — just a number from 1 to 10. You don't have to explain it. Dave uses it to understand where you're at before you've typed a word.
Just talk
Type whatever's on your mind. There's no right way to start. Some people come with a specific problem. Some just know something's off and can't put their finger on it. Both are fine.
Dave won't bombard you with questions. He'll acknowledge what you've said, ask one thing at a time, and — when the moment is right — offer a perspective or a practical thought. He speaks like a person, not a product.
Dave remembers you
If you have an account, Dave carries context between sessions. He remembers what you've talked about — your work situation, what's been weighing on you, how things have been going. Over time it feels less like starting from scratch and more like picking up a conversation with someone who actually knows you.
No account? That's fine too. You can use Heydave as a guest — Dave just won't remember you next time.
Safe by design
Dave is tuned to recognise when someone's struggling beyond what a conversation can help with. If that happens, he'll respond with warmth — and make sure you know where to go for real support. The Samaritans number (116 123) is always available on this page, every page, every time.
Private by default
Your conversations are encrypted and private. No one at Heydave reads them. They're not used to train AI. They're not sold or shared. They're yours — and you can delete them any time.
Got questions? The most common ones are answered on the main page. Anything else — drop us a line at hello@heydave.co.
When Dave isn't enough
Dave is a good place to start. But there are times when you need more than a conversation — a real person, a professional, or urgent help.
If things feel like they're escalating rather than getting clearer. If you find yourself talking to Dave instead of anyone in your life. If you're having thoughts of harming yourself. That's when to reach out beyond this app.
Your GP is a good first step for anything that's been going on a while. They can do more than most men expect — refer you for therapy, sign you off work if you need it, or just actually listen.
And if things feel urgent right now:
